Job Summary

The role of Assistant Manager R&D focuses on managing structural simulation tasks and solving complex mechanical design problems for automotive sensor products. The position requires a technically skilled individual with a strong background in CAE and FEA tools, materials science, and automotive component development. The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, customer focus, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a structural simulation team in developing advanced mechanical components
  • Perform static, dynamic, and fatigue life simulations using linear and nonlinear FEM models
  • Handle complex simulations, including rubber and O-ring behavior
  • Apply CAE tools and optimization techniques for structural analysis and design validation
  • Manage the full product development cycle from concept through verification and validation
  • Develop and validate simulation models, correlating with experimental results
  • Address and resolve design issues related to strength, durability, and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve mechanical challenges in sensor products

Requirements

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience:
    • 12–15 years of experience in structural simulation and automotive product development
    • Hands-on experience with plastic, sheet metal, and sensor-related components
    • Experience in fatigue life assessment and experimental validation procedures
  • Knowledge:
    • Expertise in CAE tools (e.g., Hypermesh, MSc Patran) and FEA analysis techniques
    • Solid understanding of material behavior (metals, plastics, hyperelastic materials)
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as molding, stamping, welding, and soldering
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and leadership capabilities
    • Proficiency in MS Office tools
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to set priorities and take decisions
    • High level of customer orientation and willingness to drive innovation
